Crystals are dazzling
Crystals are one of nature’s most beautiful things. They come in the most beautiful shapes and colours. I love it when I find a crystal.
I have some lovely quartz crystals… the Ancient Greeks thought clear quartz crystals were fossilized ice. And they do look just like fossilised ice!

Crystals and sunlight
The way crystals sparkle and dance with light is amazing.
But many crystals fade if they are kept in sunlight. An amethyst will lose all its colour. So I make sure those crystals are not by a window in my museum.

Crystals in fossilised wood
Some of my glossopteris fossils are very poor fossils. They look like the conditions weren’t quite right during the process.
But they are very special because lovely little crystals have grown in them. It is nice to take them out into the sunlight and look at them with my magnifying glass.
